ASP Trip
- An adult Appalachia Service Project team goes to Appalachia every fall to help residents winterize their homes. Financial support is also provided for the youth ASP summer trip. Visit www.asphome.org to find out how ASP transforms lives.
Church World Service
- FUMC collects financial donations on “Blanket Sunday” to support Church World Service Tools and Blankets program. FUMC also collects donations of school supplies through the “Tote Bags for Education” program that supports the Church World Service School Kit program. Hospital Revitalization

Hunger and Development in Latin America and the Asia and Pacific Region

Katrina Church Recovery

Optometry Giving Sight
- Optometry Giving Sight (www.givingsight.org) addresses the needs of the 250 million men, women and children around the world who are blind or visually impaired simply because they don’t have access to an eye exam and a pair of glasses.
RAWA (Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan)
- FUMC’s donation fully sponsors an orphaned child in Kabul, Afghanistan, providing food and nourishment, clothes, health care, life skills, education, and school supplies in a safe environment full of tolerance, love and respect. Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child

Sudan Emergency
- UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) provides direct relief and rehabilitation in the embattled Darfur region of the Sudan including agriculture extension, emergency supply distribution, and small-scale livelihoods, in addition to providing assistance to Sudanese refugees fleeing to the neighboring nation of Chad. The Smile Train
- The Smile Train (www.smiletrain.org) provides free surgery for children with cleft lip and palate and free training for doctors.
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF

Villages of Hope
- Villages of Hope are planned Christian communities for Zambian AIDS orphans. Trained Christian caregiver parents from indigenous churches meet the needs of orphaned children for shelter, safety, food and care. Nothing But Nets
- In the poorest parts of the world, where effective window screens are lacking, insecticide-treated bed nets are arguably the most cost-effective way to prevent malaria transmission.
