Fallston United Methodist Church, a welcoming and caring congregation, seeks to embrace all persons by providing Christian worship, education and fellowship in order to nurture spiritual growth. As we evolve in our faith, together and individually, we seek to follow the teaching of Christ and to accept and respond to God's love and grace. We recognize our responsibility to all of God's children as we reach out to meet the needs of our members, our community, and our world.

God-Sizing Both our Faith and Fear

When economic times are tough and uncertain, the temptation is to make God and God's mission in and through the church among the first victims. Certainly all individuals and institutions are and should be in cautious, restraint modes...including all not-for-profits. In this light, I especially appreciate the hard work, wisdom, and faith of our Finance Committee as they developed a realistic, faith-based budget that reflects both their understanding of the current economic climate and their trust in God.

Because God is counting on us, and because our priorities can either strengthen or weaken our relationship to God, I hope that all of us will somehow hear God's often-repeated message to off-balanced/frightened people in the Bible encounters..."Don't be afraid." I'm not simply trusting God for the "forever and ever," I'm also seeking to trust God "for now." I invite you to join me and to experience the joy of living out a real faith with a real God in real time...even when that time is tough and uncertain.
