The Adventure of Lent...& Life

Life is an adventure. Despite all of our preparing and planning, it just seems to happen.

Fortunately, God accompanies us on this adventure. While we regularly prepare and plan for God (in worship, personal devotions, Bible study, etc.), often God just seems to happen.

That's "The Story" that we're a part of. God meets us at unlikely times, places, and circumstances as pure grace that encourages us, enlightens us, empowers us.

Check out the gospels (and the entire Bible). It's amazing who, when, and how God-in-Christ weaves his way into people's lives. They're often busy at work, in big trouble, just doing their thing; they're rarely in a religious building, in a "God-mode," in their Sunday best (dress or demeanor).

Our sacred stories are in the Book, our scriptures. Yet God is bigger and better than any and all of our buildings and books. God is there in your adventures, your life experiences, wanting and waiting to be known, to be trusted, to be enjoyed.

Who knows what's down the road? But we do know Who's on the road with us, and that all roads lead Home...by the grace of God.

A fellow traveler & adventurer,

Jim
