As we evolve in our faith, together and individually, we seek to follow the teaching of Christ and to accept and respond to God's love and grace. We recognize our responsibility to all of God's children as we reach out to meet the needs of our members, our community, and our world.

The Search for God at Fallston

I'm re-reading The Search for God at Harvard, the story of a 35-year-old journalist who enrolled at the Harvard Divinity School. Ari Goldman took a year-long leave from the New York Times (he worked as a religious reporter) to deepen and broaden his knowledge of the sacred as a seminary student. It makes for an interesting, insightful story.

Which raises two important questions for our lives:

  • Where are we looking for God?
  • What's our "story?"
We don't have to go to Boston, or even to seminary. God is always there, waiting for us to look, to see. It's all about paying attention, being available, becoming aware. Our opportunities are everywhere, all the time!
